Episode 4: Water Element, Family Dynamics, and One Thing All Kids Need

Today I’m going to be finishing up the element types and how they relate to kids’ behavior. Today I’m going to be talking about water type. I’m going to be pulling all of this together at the end and sharing with you a tip that all kids need.

I’ve shared about wood and fire being yang, metal being a little yin, and water being very yin. And yin is very opposite from yang. Yin means the female aspects of life. Yin is dark and quiet, it’s the nighttime. It’s the moon rather than the sun. It’s more introverted rather than being out there, wild and loud, like the wood and fire are. So it’s mysterious and rather interesting!

The nickname of a water element is the philosopher because water children are really deep thinkers. They are easy going. As water flows and goes with the flow, so do water children.

They are big day dreamers. They don’t like benign in the spotlight. They are quiet and contemplative. So they like to think. They aren’t going to be out looking for attention. Sometimes it seems like they are living in their own world and you just can’t bring them back to reality.

The emotion that comes out in water type children is fear and anxiety. Fear is most likely to come out of them if they are responding to a trigger or a stressor. Their triggers are sociability. They also don’t like to be rushed.

Their motivators are time to themselves.

I also share a little about family dynamics and how different element types can go together.

And lastly, I share what you can that all kids need, regardless of the element type.
