Registered Nurse | Acupuncturist | Author

Caring for others has shaped the course of my life. I believe healing happens when we live with authenticity, beneath the expectations of others, and beyond our inner fears and the stories that no longer serve us.In my work as an acupuncturist, a nurse, and a writer, I offer you a space of compassion, connection, and creativity, to find the healing place within you.

About Me

For the first half of my adult career, I worked as a nurse practitioner in pediatrics and neonatology. I received a master’s degree in Maternal-Child Health from Boston College, and spent the next thirty years working in New York, Boston, and Providence in Pediatric/Neonatal intensive care. Although the work was exciting and rewarding, I wanted a new way to help people, something more holistic, that treated mind, body, and spirit. That turned out to be acupuncture.

I received a second master’s degree from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA).  I am board certified by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Medicine in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is rich with over two-thousand-years of history. It offers a deep and profound path to healing by treating the whole body, not just one body part or one symptom.

As an extension of my work, I have been training for two years with Master Robert Peng in qi gong. Qi is the body’s life force and the foundation of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Qi gong practice cultivates and balances qi and greatly benefits me and my patients.

I am certified as a meditation teacher by Davidji’s 200-hour Unplug meditation teacher training.

Integrative Health

Longevity – the new buzzword in the world of wellness. Longevity includes both lifespan – the number of years an individual lives, and health span – the portion of life an individual lives in optimal health, free from chronic disease and severe disability.

I would add to that definition, living with dignity and cognitive clarity. (Read my Substack article from May 2026). It’s a relatively new area of research and holds great potential for the future of the health and wellness industry.

At Acupuncture and Integrative Health, I offer guidance on how you can live your longest and best life, including:

  • Biohacking
  • Supplements – traditional and new, non-traditional
  • Medicinal mushrooms
  • Hot and cold therapy
  • Far infrared light therapy
  • Lifestyle
  • Nutrition
  • And more….

Testimonials

She has an intuitive ability to understand exactly what you need in the moment, and every session feels thoughtful, personalized, and intentional. Her depth of knowledge is clear, but its how she applies it – with care and precision – that makes the experience exceptional. I always leave feeling better, more aligned, and more connected. Julie is simply the best at what she does, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking truly individualized, high-quality acupuncture care.”

“A few years ago, I started seeing Julie for my knee pain. She has a caring, compassionate way that immediately put me at ease. She explained acupuncture and what the needles were doing in an easy-to-understand way. After two treatments the pain started to subside, but it took time. By the end of my 8-week course of treatment my knees felt 80% better. Now I only need to see Julie occasionally. Highly recommended.”
