Episode 31: Sasha Morozov: Having It All - The Work-Home-Family Life Balance

Sasha Morozov is here with me to share about Having it All. NOT the work-life balance but The Work-Home-Family Life Balance!

Sasha Morozov is a former executive who holds a Master’s in Social Work and is the founder of Sasha X Home. When Sasha isn’t chasing after her two sons, she utilizes her clinical skills to coach women who are killing it at work but feel like they are failing at home to have more time, less clutter, and systems for a peaceful life. Sasha believes that working moms are exceptional humans who are skilled, devoted, and unstoppable. Sasha has spent almost 15 years working in the non-profit field to help individuals and families create better futures. Sasha is an avid minimalist, productivity master, and is obsessed with organizing and designing homes. Sasha has now developed a 4- Step Method that focuses on Self, Home, Relationships, and Systems to help moms hit start on the life they’ve put on pause.

Sasha is on a mission to help moms really enjoy their life at home.

She found through her journey that it starts with really looking at yourself first. Once we look at ourselves, then we can look at our environment. Sasha wants moms to come home and NOT feel like they just started their second shift at work.

It’s about time we as moms enjoyed our space!

So what does that mean? That may mean getting rid of some clutter, rearranging, creating more of a loving home in the way that you pictured for you and your family. One family may really value family dinners, while somebody else may just need some time to recharge. There are a lot of introvert moms out there who need some time to recharge.

Sasha is completely against the phrase - ‘work-life balance.’ That is because when you hear that phrase, it usually means that person is trying to juggle everything all at once, and it all needs to ‘look perfect’ and ‘be equal’.

But that is NOT realistic! That is NOT how we live our lives! Nor does Sasha feel like we need to. Life is not black and white, it’s very much in the gray. Life is very much like a pendulum. Sometimes you need to be there for work more than at home. Sometimes you or your kids get sick, so you are needed at home.

Rather than trying to juggle everything, let’s look at life as a swinging pendulum so that way we’re actually letting our shoulders down a little bit, and can relax. This is a much healthier way of living!

We also talk about how a lot of working moms feel guilty, and even feel guilty that they like going to work! It's easy to feel guilty. You feel guilty for being at work, then guilty for wanting to be at work, what to do to encourage your children to help out more around the house, and the importance of being present when we have so much on our plates.

I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!
