Episode 32: Rita Morris: Conflict at Home? It’s Ok, It’s Healthy - Listen Why

Rita Morris is my guest today and she will be talking about conflict in your home, whether that is with your spouse, understanding your child better, or setting boundaries in your home.

Rita Morris is a parenting coach with a background in counseling. She works with parents around issues such as divorce, conflict, boundary setting, uncooperative behavior, and teaching kids about consequences. She helps kids to learn how to make good decisions for themselves.

She helps parents understand their parent voice, and create and uphold strong boundaries! She helps with disrespectful and uncooperative behavior and the consequences of that behavior.

In today's episode, we talk about conflict in a family, especially between the parents.

So much of what Rita has learned in her process about what is unsettling to kids is when there is conflict or stress in the home. When children see the tension between their parents it can really be off-putting for kids and so unsettling for them.

Rita is a parent to children who are both diagnosed with ADHD and often parents of children who are complex or need a little extra, often challenges the relationship of the parents.

However, Rita shares how it’s not the divorce that is so detrimental to kids it really is the conflict that comes either before or even after a divorce that is so disconcerting for kids.

What we really want for kids is for them to have a peaceful environment!
