Episode 9: Harry Armytage: The Learning Difficulty Expert
Today my guest is Harry Armytage. Harry is the learning difficulty expert. He helps bright children struggling in school to rediscover a love of learning.
As an avid photographer and intermittent sculptor, Harry resonates with sensitive, creative clients. He also enjoys working with those who are bright or gifted because there is more potential to deliver gains. He finds it easier to work with clients who are open to change and those with a positive attitude. Most of his clients under-perform because they struggle to listen, look or move efficiently or have had an adverse childhood experience. Brighter clients are able to disguise their struggle for longer, but even they eventually “hit a wall” as they run out of ways to compensate for their learning difficulties.
In today’s episode, Harry expands more on what he does and gives a background to how he became a learning difficulty expert.
Harry shares how he himself suffered a learning disability as well as his son, which gives him the ability to really understand the children he works with because he can truly relate to them.
We talked about how children can lose their love of learning, what moms experience when their children are going through this, and Harry also gives us some examples of the types of work and results he does with clients.
We also address ADHD, and how important it is for children to be active, the way it can actually enhance their learning ability, and what most children do if they feel threatened.
